1. Introduction

Welcome to Khulani AI, an educational platform operated by Mopane Labs. By accessing or using our website, services, or mobile applications, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the service.

2. Account registration and roles

You must register for an account to use most features of Khulani AI. Self-service registration creates a student account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated. Students under the age of 13 must have parental or guardian consent before creating an account.

3. Sign-in with Google

You may sign in or register using Google OAuth. When you do, Google may share profile information (such as name, email, and profile image) with us as described in our Privacy Policy and in Google's terms. You are responsible for the security of your Google account. If the email returned by Google matches an existing Khulani AI account, we may link that sign-in method to your account.

4. User content

Our service allows you to upload, submit, store, send, or receive content. You retain ownership of intellectual property rights you hold in your content. By uploading or submitting content, you grant Mopane Labs a worldwide license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works (including AI-generated study materials based on your materials), communicate, publish, and distribute such content as needed to operate and improve the service.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

  • Upload content that infringes copyrights or other rights of others (for example, sharing proprietary materials without permission).
  • Generate, distribute, or promote harmful, deceptive, explicit, or illegal content.
  • Attempt to manipulate, break, reverse engineer, or scrape our systems or models beyond permitted use.
  • Misrepresent your identity or attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Certain aspects of the service may be provided for a fee. If you use paid features, you agree to the applicable pricing and payment terms. We may add or change fees with reasonable notice where required by law.

7. AI-generated output and disclaimers

Khulani AI uses artificial intelligence to help you learn from the materials you provide. Outputs may contain errors, omissions, or "hallucinations." The service does not replace teachers, official syllabi, textbooks, or professional advice. You are responsible for verifying important facts and for how you use generated content in academic or professional settings.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mopane Labs and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for claims arising from the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim or fifty United States dollars (USD), except where prohibited by law.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the service if you violate these terms, create risk or legal exposure for us, or where we cease offering the service. You may stop using the service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive termination.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country apply.
